A common problem with marking is that teachers are writing the same comment on work time and again!
For coursework pupils now get an assessment feedback sheet. This has to be filled in by the teacher, pupils MUST respond to it if they want more feedback.
On this feedback sheet there is a list of generalised comments. Things that have been achieved are crossed off – those not yet achieved are not. Pupils have to tick off those things they think that they have improved – and cite where they have put it. (This speeds up a teacher having to try and find where things are!)
Overall this has had a positive impact, pupils are responding to their targets, it is saving time with marking and work is improving!
